The Directoire Gown (Style #1803)

Our gown from the "Directoire" period features the "empire" waist and long draping luxurious train. The fabric is an exquisite, delicate burn-out silk velvet over a soft pink bridal satin.

The gown is also available in our elegant embroidered net-over-silk charmeuse. The sleeves are small cap sleeves resting slightly off the shoulder and are delicately puffed and tacked with metallic or beaded trims.

The optional center front detail is a jeweled round, off of which drape rhinestone chains and strands of pearls, attached at the back neck like a necklace.

The bodice is constructed in a corset-like fashion using boning and laces closed at the center back.

This design lends itself well to our "fabric embellishment." After the fabric is cut, we take it to an artist who hand applies delicate lines of iridescent glitter which accent the pattern already in the fabric. In our sample gown, we enhanced the velvet with hand-sewn pearls.

Colors available: white, ivory or silk-white over a variety of pastel colors, based on availability.
