The Victorian Gowns (Styles #1877 and #1889)

Style #1877 - 19th Century Corset Wedding Gown with Corset and Train

This is our simplified version of the popular, late 1870's corset look, coupled with a modified "low bustle." The entire dress can be constructed from a variety of colors of brocade.

The design lines are accented with contrasting bias bridal satin. The bodice is cut from a 19th century pattern and is constructed in a corset-like fashion with boning, a center back lacing, and a very traditional "busk" closure which allowed women to open and close their corset at the center front without always undoing laces.

Style #1889 - The Gilded Age Wedding Dress

Influenced by the sweeping trumpet skirts of the Gilded Age and "La Belle Epoque," this sensual right-to-the-edge-of-the-shoulder gown can be made of either a silk/rayon velvet or, when available, a "burn out" velvet.

The shoulder detail has two options; one is a small shoulder cap, encrusted with beaded appliques and finished with a beaded fringe. The other option is to use the daring look of luxurious ostrich boas around the shoulders.
